Places to visit

Cambremer is an ideal touring centre.

Within 30 minutes drive:

    Sandy beaches of stylish Deauville and Cabourg
    Honfleur, picturesque port, artist's paradise with many galleries
    Caen with its ancient battlements, museums, abbeys, Peace Memorial, and, of course, shopping!  Massive out-of-town shopping complex off RN13.
    Falaise with its spectacular and dramatically-restored castle, birthplace of William the Conqueror
    Trouville, where the Parisians holiday, renowned for its seafood restaurants
    Lisieux, with the massive Basilica, in memory of Sainte Therese
    Several chateaux, including Crevecoeur
    Pegasus Bridge and other D-day sites

And a little further afield:

    D-Day landing beaches (5/6 June 1944 - Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword) and Arromanches - Mulberry harbour and 'living museum'.
    Bayeux with the 11th century tapestry depicting the 1066 invasion of England
    Les Andelys, with the castle (Chateau Gaillard) commissioned by Richard the Lionheart, overlooking the Seine Valley
    Monet's Garden at Giverny
    Festyland children's theme park in western outskirts of Caen
    Suisse Normande region (deep wooded gorges cut by the River Orne) with Bagnoles de L'Orne (largest spa in Western France)
    Mont St Michel (spectacular!)
    Rouen...Dieppe...The Brotonne National Park.....and Paris, just 2 1/2 hours by Autoroute.
